RPMI-1640 medium was developed in 1966 by Moore and colleagues at the Roswell Park Memorial Institute for the cultivation of human leukemic cells in both monolayer and suspension cultures. Today, it is a versatile medium widely used for the culture of various mammalian cell lines, including Jurkat cells, hybridomas, human myeloma cells, mouse hybridomas, human leukocytes, and both B and T lymphocytes. This formulation contains L-Glutamine.

Uses:
Supplements, such as antibiotics, should be added as sterile supplements to the medium. Storage conditions and shelf-life of supplemented product will be affected by the nature of the supplements.

Signs of Deterioration:
Medium should be clear and free of particulate and flocculent material. Do not use if medium is cloudy or contains precipitate. Other evidence of deterioration may include colour change or degradation of physical or performance characteristics.

The product is intended to be used in vitro for research or further manufacturing only and not for use
as an Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient or food or animal feed.
