This solution, Penicillin-Streptomycin-Glutamine 100X, is a mixture of two antibiotics used to prevent or eliminate bacterial contamination. It has a broad spectrum of activity against both Gram-negative and Gram-positive bacteria. The two antibiotics work together to inhibit bacterial growth: penicillin prevents the synthesis of the bacterial cell wall, while streptomycin inhibits protein synthesis.

Uses:
Mode of Action: Penicillin acts by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis.  Streptomycin inhibits prokaryote protein synthesis by preventing the transition from initiation
complex to chain-elongating ribosome and causes miscoding.  Antimicrobial spectrum: Gram-negative and Gram-positive bacteria.
Potency of the penicillin in solution: 10 000 U/ml
