Dulbecco’s Phosphate Buffered Saline (DPBS) is designed to help maintain the physiological pH and osmotic balance of mammalian cells, preserving their morphology and function. It is commonly used for rinsing cells, serving as a buffer in various chromatographic assays, and as a diluent in cell counting procedures. DPBS is also frequently used to wash cells during enzymatic dissociation. This formulation is free of calcium and magnesium ions.

Uses:
Supplements, such as antibiotics, should be added as sterile supplements to the buffer solution. Storage conditions and shelf-life of the supplemented product will be affected by the nature of the supplements

Signs of Deterioration:
Buffer solution should be clear and free of particulate and flocculent material.  Do not use if buffer solution is cloudy or contains precipitate.  Other evidence of deterioration may include degradation of physical or performance characteristics.
