Dulbecco’s Modified Eagle Medium (DMEM) is designed to support the maintenance and growth of a wide variety of mammalian cell types. When supplemented with fetal calf serum, it also facilitates the proliferation of mouse embryonic stem cells. This particular formulation does not include L-Glutamine.

Medium tested for the ability to support Hela cell growth.

Uses :
Supplements, such as antibiotics, should be added as sterile supplements to the medium.  Storage conditions and shelf-life of supplemented products will be affected by the nature of the supplements. Sterile serum should not be refiltered before or after being added to sterile medium because growth promoting capacity may be reduced upon re-filtration.
Add 20 ml/l of L-Glutamine 200 mM before using this medium.

Signs of Deterioration:
Medium should be clear and free of particulate and flocculent material. Do not use, if medium is cloudy or contains precipitate. Other evidence of deterioration may include colour change or degradation of physical or performance characteristics.

The product is intended to be used in vitro for research or further manufacturing only and not for use as an Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient or food or animal feed.
