Amphotericin B powder is an antibiotic used to prevent or eliminate fungal contamination in both cell and tissue cultures. It works by interfering with the permeability of fungal membranes. This is accomplished by creating channels in the membranes, which causes essential small molecules to leak out, preventing the growth of yeasts and fungi.
