Originally developed to investigate the hormonal needs of cells in culture, DMEM-Ham’s F12 serves as a basal medium for cultivating a variety of mammalian cells, including MDCK, fibroblasts, and endothelial cells. This medium is a 1:1 blend of DMEM and Ham’s F12. This particular formulation does not contain L-Glutamine.

Uses:
Supplements, such as antibiotics, should be added as sterile supplements to the medium. Storage conditions and shelf-life of supplemented products will be affected by the nature of the supplements.  Add 12.5 ml/l of L-Glutamine 100X, 200mM or 365 mg/l of L-Glutamine before using this medium.

Signs of Deterioration:
Medium should be clear and free of particulate and flocculent material.  Do not use this medium if it is cloudy or contains precipitate.  Other evidence of deterioration may include colour change or degradation of physical or performance characteristics.

The product is intended to be used in vitro for research or further manufacturing only and not for use as an Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient or food or animal feed.
