Fetal Bovine Serum (FBS) is a sterile, purified serum containing essential proteins, growth factors, and attachment factors vital for the in vitro maintenance and proliferation of eukaryotic cells. It is obtained from coagulated fetal bovine blood through centrifugation and subsequent triple 0.1µm filtration. Every batch undergoes comprehensive testing for endotoxins, mycoplasma, and viruses like Bovine Viral Diarrhea (BVD). We also measure hemoglobin and total protein content and verify its performance in cell culture to ensure quality. FBS from European origins are known to have naturally lower IgG levels.
